Dr Kavi Jagadamma (PhD, PgCert, PGDEI, BSc) is a Senior Lecturer in the Dietetics, Nutrition & Biological Sciences, Physiotherapy, Podiatry & Radiography Division. He is also an Associate member of Centre for Health, Activity and Rehabilitation Research. Dr Kavi Jagadamma is also a member of ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº's Court.

Dr Kavi Jagadamma started his career in a voluntary organisation in India working as a physiotherapist and co-ordinator of early intervention services for at-risk children. This role included co-ordination of family centred early intervention services at two different centres, which supported families from low socioeconomic backgrounds. After three years of working as a clinician he joined PhD at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº and completed an exploratory study investigating the effects of tuning of ankle foot orthoses and footwear using 3D motion analyses on gait, function and quality of life of children with cerebral palsy. After completion of PhD, he joined ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº as a senior lecturer. He is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy and is involved in design and delivery of modules at undergraduate and post graduate levels. He is also part of various research activities, predominantly in the area of long term neurological conditions.

Kavi has been involved in design, development and implementation of research projects evaluating effectiveness of interventions in various patient populations.
The current active projects include:
- Lead investigator on a funded project looking at perspectives of stroke survivors on community based exercise
- Collaborator on a funded project looking at exercise behavior of children with cerebral palsy and their barriers and facilitators to exercise.
- Supervisor on a PhD project investigating the effects of a pragmatic community based exercise on gait and function of young adults with cerebral palsy
Kavi is also involved in various student projects in the form of systematic reviews, primary data collection studies and secondary analysis of data predominantly relating to patients with neurological conditions.
Active Research Interests:
- Measurement of function and gait with particular interest in 3D motion analysis

- Interventions to improve function and quality of life of people living with long term neurological conditions

Multiple small grants for Health Design Collective CIC, a social enterprise for user-centred product design in healthcare
I am currently the Collaborative Academic Lead for MSc Musculoskeletal Medicine programme. I also co-ordinate multiple cross school modules. I enjoy working with students from various countries and have developed modules to support transition into UK higher education. I also have particular interest in decolonising curriculum, embedding enterprise in curriculum and technology enhanced learning. Some of the key areas of my teaching and learning are:
- Enterprise and Entrepreneurship in healthcare practice
- Foundation sciences of physiotherapy practice relevant to human movement and function
- Applied neurosciences relevant to neurological rehabilitation including neuropsychology and principles of motor control and learning
- Audit, service evaluation and research - design and implementation
- Measurement and evaluation for impact in practice
I supervise dissertations at Master's and Undergraduate level on various programmes. I have been involved in design and development of various programmes including Advancing Practice framework, Undergraduate Master of Physiotherapy (MPhys) and MSc Physiotherapy (pre-registration).Ìý
